Resend

Send email from your own domain

Without it: No confirmations, receipts, welcome emails or newsletters go out, and help-desk email can't arrive.

Your emails are sent through your own Resend account, from your own domain, so they reach inboxes and replies come back to you. Resend's free plan is enough to start.

Steps

  1. 1Add your domain in Resend

Sign up at Resend if you have no account yet. On Domains press Add domain and enter the domain you send from (for example example.com). Then choose the addresses your emails come from: both must be at that domain.

    Open Resend domains

In your dashboard you fill in: Send receipts and confirmations from; Send newsletters from.

  2. 2Create a key

On API Keys press Create API Key, name it after this website and choose Full access. Full access lets us check your domain and create the email events link for you. Copy the key (it starts with re_, shown once) and paste it here.

    Open Resend API keys

In your dashboard you fill in: Resend key (starts re_).

  3. 3Add the DNS records

Resend shows a few DNS records for your domain (for sending, and MX for receiving). Add each one where your domain's DNS is managed (often the company you bought the domain from). Press Check DNS to see each record's status here. Records can take up to an hour to show as verified.

  4. 4Email events

When you save a Full access key we add an email events link to your Resend account, so we see deliveries, bounces, complaints and replies to your help desk. Nothing to do here unless it shows a problem.

  5. 5Done

Your website now sends from your own domain. Send yourself a test: sign up to your own free product with your email address.

Do it by hand

Only if the automatic step above did not work, or you chose a sending-only key.

Use a sending-only key instead

A Sending access key is safer but can't check your domain or create the events link. If you chose one: in Resend open Webhooks, press Add Webhook, paste the endpoint address below, tick the events below, then copy the signing secret (it starts with whsec_) and paste it here.

Open Resend webhooks

Endpoint address: shown in your dashboard Events to tick: shown in your dashboard

In your dashboard you fill in: Signing secret (starts whsec_).

In your dashboard: Settings → Connections → Resend → Set up. Provider steps checked Oct 31, 2026.
